HomicideZero exists because the warning signs of targeted violence are so often seen, and so rarely recognized. Teachers, counselors, intake staff, and officers meet at-risk individuals every day without the training to know what they are looking at. We started this company to close that gap.
Our flagship is an empirically grounded, structured professional judgment (SPJ) process for screening and assessing homicide risk, in use across schools, workplaces, and public safety agencies. Every course on this platform is rooted in Dr. Moore's decades of research and clinical work in violence risk. After years working with incarcerated youth, he developed a structured process for assessing homicidal threats and reducing risk, a methodology now deployed across educational, corporate, and community settings. He has spent more than 500 hours in threat assessment interviews with at-risk individuals and their families.
That same research produced the HTS and HSRA, the psychometric violence-risk instruments Dr. Moore created and that the Homicide Zero tool platform is built around. These courses are the clinical reasoning behind those instruments, taught by the researcher who created them.

HomicideZero was co-founded by mental health clinicians and technologists: Clay Harris, MA, LPC-MHSP, a former CEO of a statewide behavioral health practice and past board president of the Tennessee Licensed Professional Counselors Association, and Chad Frerer, a career technologist who builds the platform that carries the clinical work. Dr. Moore leads the clinical research. That mix is deliberate. Evidence only prevents violence when it reaches the person standing in front of the risk, in a form they can actually use.
